The Rockefeller Foundation to Support ONE with $1.25 Million Grant
WASHINGTON — The ONE Campaign is pleased to announce support from The Rockefeller Foundation to fight extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Through a grant of $1.25 million over five years, The Rockefeller Foundation will help enable ONE to expand its work in core priority areas that help lift communities out of extreme poverty. These areas include promoting gender equality, economic opportunity and education for all, and are complementary with the Rockefeller Foundation’s big bets to tackle poverty including its commitment to ending energy poverty for those without access.
“There’s strength in numbers and when it comes to accelerating breakthrough solutions that advance our common humanity and empower the world’s most vulnerable, few organizations on the planet are as strong as The Rockefeller Foundation,” said Gayle Smith, CEO of The ONE Campaign. “This collaboration brings together two like-minded organizations that are committed to bringing hope to millions of people in the world’s poorest countries. We couldn’t be more excited for all that we’ll achieve together.”
“Supporting The ONE Campaign will help us accelerate our shared goal of ending extreme poverty,”said Dr. Rajiv J. Shah, President of The Rockefeller Foundation. “Like ONE, we are committed to helping young people in sub-Saharan Africa reach their full potential in a rapidly changing region, and are thrilled to be helping to bolster the work of The ONE Campaign to bring about lasting change.”
