ONE Welcomes House, Senate Bills on Foreign Aid Transparency & Accountability
WASHINGTON (July 11, 2013) – The ONE Campaign applauds the introduction of bipartisan foreign assistance reform legislation in the U.S. House and Senate. In an effort to make American foreign aid more transparent and accountable, Sens. Rubio (R-FL) and Cardin (D-MD) and Reps. Poe (R-TX) and Connolly (D-VA) have introduced the Foreign Aid Transparency and Accountability Act of 2013 (S. 1271; H.R. 2638).
Tom Hart, U.S. Executive Director of ONE, said:
“This legislation demonstrates a real desire in Congress to make our foreign assistance programs, which are saving millions of lives around the world, even better by making them more effective, efficient and transparent.
We look forward to working with Members of both chambers to enact this legislation during the 113th Congress.”
