Angels & Airwaves Encourages Fans to Join ONE through Launch of New Album Love

Washington, D.C. – Angels & Airwaves is partnering with ONE, a global anti-poverty awareness group, in the free digital release of the band’s third album Love. Every time someone visits the band’s website to download the album, they’ll be shown ONE’s PSA “Coming Together as ONE” and encouraged to join ONE at www.one.org.

As ONE members, Angels & Airwaves will use the digital download offer as a platform to raise fans’ awareness and to ask them to raise their voices in the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease.
“From our free distribution model to featuring ONE’s PSA to engage our fans to get involved in the fight against extreme poverty, every aspect of this album is different from ‘business as usual’,” said Tom Delonge, lead singer and founder of Angels & Airwaves.

A cutting-edge band since its inception, Angels & Airwaves seeks to reach as many people as possible by making their newest album, Love, available on February 14, 2010 as a free digital download on www.angelsandairwaves.com.
“ONE is always interested in new and innovative ways of getting our message out and we’re excited about the opportunity we have to reach new audiences through this creative partnership with Angels & Airwaves,” said ONE US Executive Director Sheila Nix.

ONE is a grassroots campaign and advocacy organization backed by more than 2.4 million people who are committed to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa.

Angels & Airwaves was founded in the wake of Tom DeLonge’s break-up with massive punk supergroup blink-182. The band has released two previous studio albums We Don’t Need to Whisper and I-Empire, both of which rocketed into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top 200 charts.  To date, AvA has sold more than 2 million albums worldwide.  Both albums had Top 5 singles and critics heaped praise on AvA from the beginning.  Billboard said “Its potential is a force to be reckoned with.”   The New York Post commented that “the songs are every bit the anthems he wants them to be.”  And UK super music magazine Kerrang! said “the results are some stunning moments of perfection.”
