Are You Ready to Vote?

ONE

Midterm elections are right around the corner, and your vote counts. The fight to end global poverty is on the ballot this November.

So before you head to the voting booth, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Use your democratic power

This one seems obvious, but it is important you get out there and VOTE. Whether you do it in-person or via mail, look up your voter registration status ASAP and double check you’re set before November 8. Our elected officials hold a lot of power – but we’re the ones that give it to them, so exercise that power at the polls.

Do your homework

We know homework sucks (whether you’re still in school or not) but with so much at stake, take the time before you vote to find out whether the candidates align with your thoughts on issues like malaria and global food insecurity.

Don’t forget to keep the same energy after the election, too

Your power doesn’t end in the voting booth. After elected officials take office, keep in touch with them. Make sure they know what their constituents want and encourage them to stick to their promises.

Join ONE

Speaking of keeping in touch with officials, ONE provides timely action alerts for contacting decision makers about poverty fighting policies. Join our global community working to end extreme poverty and preventable disease right here.
