The ONE Campaign hires Suzy George as Chief Operating Officer
WASHINGTON — The ONE Campaign, the global advocacy organization co-founded by U2 lead singer Bono to fight extreme poverty and the spread of preventable diseases, has appointed Suzy George as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Ms. George served as Deputy Assistant to the President, and Executive Secretary and Chief of Staff of the National Security Council from 2014 through 2017.

As COO, Ms. George will oversee the finance, human resources, information technology, and global operations departments, will manage the organization’s offices in eight countries, will coordinate the organization’s board of directors, and will sit on the ONE’s executive management team. She will manage the organization’s $37 million annual operating budget and support an international staff of roughly 200.
At the National Security Council (NSC), Ms. George worked on strategic planning and execution, as well as operations and crisis management. She oversaw administrative, financial and personnel matters for the NSC and led several NSC directorates, including the Executive Secretariat, Resource Management, Records Management, Information Technology Systems, and the White House Situation Room.
Before joining the White House, Ms. George served as a Principal at Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategic advisory firm and was a member of the Operating Committee of Albright Capital Management, a global investment firm. From 1997 to 2001, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Department of State. Ms. George also served as Special Assistant and Assistant Counsel to the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from 1995 to 1997. Prior to serving in government, Ms. George worked for the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs.
Ms. George holds a BA degree from Mount Holyoke College and a JD from the George Washington University Law School. She currently serves on the National Security Education Board.
Ms. George will start in ONE’s Washington office in March.
