There are a lot of misconceptions out there about Africa, so that’s where we come in. We’re setting the record straight about what you really need to know about Africa.
Here are 3 common misconceptions about Africa, and the real facts.
Myth 1: There is little economic growth in Africa
This myth couldn’t be further from the truth. In reality, three out of four Africans are entrepreneurs, and one out of five working-class Africans are thinking of starting a business. If that’s not flipping that myth on its head, we don’t know what is!
Myth 2: Africans don’t have food
Another myth that can’t be more far from the truth. Africa is a global food contributor. In fact, 70% of the world’s cocoa is from just two countries – Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana!
Myth 3: Africa’s population doesn’t matter globally
Just another myth that we are flipping on its head. Africa has the largest and youngest working population, with 1.2 billion people. And by 2050, this will double to 2.5 billion! Last we checked, a population of 2.5 billion is something that holds a lot of weight.
As long as there are myths out there about Africa, we’ll be around to fight them. Watch our video below to learn more and help us myth-bust.
