ONE responds to CHOGM Communique
Speaking at the end of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, Senior UK Policy and Advocacy Manager Lorriann Robinson said:
We welcome the commitment by Commonwealth leaders to halve the number of malaria cases by 2023. This is one of the world’s deadliest diseases, so steps to tackle it will have a huge impact for millions of people.
“We also applaud the positive announcement on education with the move towards ensuring every child can receive 12 years of quality education by 2030. This move will help some of the 130 million girls around the world who are denied an education, and further help in the fight against extreme poverty.”
