ONE reacts to Moderna COVID-19 vaccine trial

Reacting to the new Moderna vaccine trial being nearly 95% effective, Jenny Ottenhoff, Senior Policy Director at the ONE Campaign said:

“This is extremely good news, but the fight to end the pandemic is far from over. Warning signs are clear that the world’s richest countries have already secured over half of the anticipated supply of vaccines in 2021,  leaving the world’s poorest countries behind. It’s not in anyone’s best interest for effective vaccines to be hoarded in just a few countries.

“No country or institution can do this alone. We’re not competing with each other – we’re competing against the virus. Governments must work together now to ensure the vaccine reaches the ones who need it most, because we won’t beat this virus anywhere until we have beaten it everywhere.”
