Next UK Prime Minister must continue David Cameron’s fight against poverty and corruption
Adrian Lovett, interim Chief Executive of The ONE Campaign, today praised Prime Minister David Cameron for his fight against extreme poverty, preventable disease and corruption.
Lovett said: “During David Cameron’s time in office, the UK has helped ensure 11 million children now go to school and get a decent education, and 43 million children are now protected against deadly diseases. He has also led a bold drive to increase transparency and stop the corruption that hurts ordinary people in the world’s poorest countries.
“He has been a sincere and committed defender of Britain’s role in fighting extreme poverty and disease and on this, he speaks for the majority of the British people. His successor – and all UK political leaders – must cherish and champion that vision of the country’s role in the years ahead.”
