ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Partnership Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and nurturing relationships with external funding partners to support our organizational goals. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent relationship building and communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple funding proposal projects simultaneously.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop robust and compelling proposals and reports for funders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing funders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Assist in negotiating funder terms and agreements, ensuring clear and beneficial outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create and implement strategies for effective funder management and integration.
  • Leverage the insight and planning of global and market teams to develop innovative funding proposals.
  • Track and evaluate development performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on activities, outcomes, and impact to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute events, meetings, and activities, including workshops, conferences, and joint promotional events.
  • Monitor the allocation of resources for funder initiatives, including budgeting and expense management, with support from the CEO.
  • Collaborate with the Brand & Creative team to promote partnerships and leverage them for ongoing support.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on engaging with and leveraging funder relationships effectively.
  • Gather feedback from funders and other stakeholders to enhance the development process and related strategies.

WHAT YOU BRING TO ONE

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, business, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in general administration, communications, relationship management, project management, or a related role.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong understanding of international development and passion for African development
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluency in English required.  Fluency in other languages such as French and German is a plus.

TRAVEL: 

Travel up to 10%

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$70,000 – $100,000 per year

This salary range is based on compensation survey data for similar organizations and is used to set pay internally at ONE. Where a new hire’s salary falls within this range is based on a variety of factors, including the budget available for this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
