The ONE Africa Awards are back! Through this award, we recognize the best practices of African-lead advocacy organizations.
The organizations we recognize are addressing social development issues through innovative advocacy in promotion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
And applications for this year’s award are officially open! Here’s what you need to know and how you can apply.
About the ONE Award
The ONE Africa Award celebrates African efforts aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the world’s blueprint for a better future. SDG targets range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education.
In previous years, we’ve celebrated organizations like The Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC), Dext Technology, CODE, Support for Women in Agriculture and Environment (SWAGEN), Friends Africa, and a host of other Africa-led organizations. Each of these organizations was rewarded with $100,000 in the year they won the ONE Africa Award.
The 2022 award
Our 2022 ONE Africa Awards focus is on organizations working to address key issues surrounding job creation in any sector (agriculture, ICT, commercial, etc.) of industry and advocating for any initiative (women’s empowerment, disability, disadvantaged, job creation, youth empowerment, etc.) on the African continent.
Applications for the ONE Award are currently open to the public and will close on September 30, 2022. Individuals or organizations who are interested in applying for the $100,000 prize must meet all the criteria for the 2022 ONE award. They will also need to download, fill out the application forms, and send their application via email to: [email protected] or the ONE Campaign office in South Africa on the first floor of Sedgwick House, 19 Muswell Road, Bryanston, Sandton.
The award ceremony will be held at the 20th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture.
