Each year 100,000 sick Ethiopians visit Entoto Mountain, drawn by the promise of its holy healing water. Many of them refuse "Western Medicine", concerned that taking the drugs would put them at odds with their religion. Dr. Solomon Zewdie and Patriarch Abune Paulos joined forces to convince the pilgrims that they don't need to choose between science and faith and together built a free treatment center at Entoto Mountain.

The use of antiretroviral treatment for HIV-positive pregnant women has averted an estimated 200,000 new HIV infections in children over the last 12 years, the vast majority since 2005.
