Event Description:
We WILL be setting a new Guinness World Book Record, so come be a part of history. Join fellow San Diegans and help us set the record once again of "Most People Standing Up For A Cause." What is the cause? Alleviating the needless suffering of millions by showing support for the fulfillment of th...(more)e Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The MDGs were agreed to by 189 countries, including the US, in 2000. Stand Up 2006 set the record with 23 million across the globe. Last year we broke our own record with 43 million participants. Come be a part of setting a new Guinness World Book record for 2008 by helping us double that number again. Stand UP 2008 is the same day as the Escondido Street Fair, Sunday October 19th so leave early to find parking (or be dropped off). Participation just takes a few minutes and volunteers will be there from 12:00-2:PM to register you. Fifteen minute formal presentation for the press will be at 12:30. We want as many cute faces as possible in the press photos so please do be there by 12:30 if able, then join the festivities.
