Earlier today, we released our exclusive Mother’s Day message from former First Lady Laura Bush. We see Mrs. Bush’s message as the best possible kick-off for ONE’s latest effort, Make Every Day Mother’s Day, a combination of storytelling, blog posts and social media actions, to help expand our understanding of how mothers in other parts of the world overcome obstacles and raise their children.

Starting this week, eight tech-savvy moms will be writing about how motherhood has changed their view of the world and their belief that every mom can make a difference for the ONE Blog. Look out for their pieces in our blog series, “Make Every Day Mother’s Day,” twice a week throughout the month.

These moms, who make up our Mom Advisory Council, will also be tweeting under the hashtag #ONEMoms (their Twitter handles are below, so be sure to follow them). We will also have some fun ways to engage in global development in the coming months, so stay tuned for that.

And finally, we are excited to announce that in July, six of these moms will be spending a week in Kenya to listen, learn and share stories with moms from all walks of life. We’re still in planning mode, so let us know if there is anything you think would be helpful to developing strong bonds between American and African moms..

Mom bloggers are storytellers through both word and lens, and we are thrilled they will provide their unique and diverse voices to highlight the unique and diverse experiences of mothers throughout Kenya.

Here are our bloggers, their blogs and their tweet handles:
