At the end of last week, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was in Manchester, New Hampshire to speak to a group of voters while he weighs a run for president in 2012. Longtime ONE volunteers Tom Leary and Mike Castaldo attended the event and were able to share a moment with the former speaker.
Newt Gingrich with ONE member Tom Leary
Tom chatted with Newt about the 2011 ONE Power Summit he just attended in Washington, D.C., and thanked the former Speaker for speaking at the ONE Summit a couple of years ago. Newt immediately recognized ONE, and discussed the importance of saving lives in poor countries around the world.
Mike was able to chat with him about PEPFAR, PMI and Bill and Melinda Gates’ new Living Proof campaign.
Newt thanked them for all the hard work they are doing on behalf of the world’s poorest and even said with regard to ONE’s volunteers, “You have such a great presence all over the place!” So keep up the great work — it’s being noticed!
And be sure to connect with other New Hampshire ONE members on Facebook and Twitter.

Yes, everywhere as in the world… not just in America… as a non-American, it’s a bit irritating that nothing seems to be happening anywhere else that anyone can get involved with… still had no response to my question about whether ‘Campus Challenge’ is in the UK or not. I wish people could get balls when the answer is no and just come out with it

Hey Mel! Thanks for your comment. For ONE-related actions and activities, head on over to http://one.org/international/ for the latest. Similarly, if you’re in Germany go here: http://one.org/de/ and if you’re in France go here: http://one.org/fr/.
At the moment, there is not a ‘Campus Challenge’ in the UK but that could change! If you have any other questions, just let me know.
Best,
Chris,
