In early July, the senate will be making funding decisions for the fight against global poverty at the very same time that world leaders are meeting at the G8 Summit. If the Senate fully funds President Obama's request for $1.36 for global agriculture, it will set a powerful example for the rest of the world and spur much-needed investment in tackling the root causes of hunger.
